Founded by Thomas Udesen (chief procurement officer of Bayer AG) and Bertrand Conquéret (chief procurement officer of Henkel) in 2019, SPP offers a global platform for procurement and supply chain practitioners to pledge their commitment to achieving more sustainable sourcing and buying practices.
For iqbusiness, SPP aligns with the companies dedication to balancing purpose and profit by considering the impact of its business decisions on its employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment.
CEO of iqbusiness, Adam Craker, explains: ""As procurement professionals, we have a critical role to play in protecting our planet for our future generations. It starts with responsible and inclusive supply chains. We, for example, are currently assessing and improving our own procurement practices and would like to mobilise more businesses to do the same.""
The company is now urging South African business leaders to sign the pledge.
"We want to support the SPP in signing up 50 South African C-suite-level executives and promote awareness for this crucial initiative by asking 10 of these executives to post interviews on the SPP website by 30 April 2021."
