Job Description
Purpose of the role
An Insights Lead is responsible for leading the research and insights for multiple key accounts. The role requires sufficient expertise to provide guidance on research design, proposals, sampling, instrument design, analytics, data-visualisation, storytelling and insights to ensure the clients’ needs are met.
The Insights Lead is responsible for developing executives on the team with regards to research and insights skills through continuous guidance and constructive feedback.
An Insights Lead is both an analytical thinker, and a strategic thinker who performs well under pressure and can manage multiple client accounts while ensuring quality outputs and clearly articulated insights are delivered.
Duties
Relationship Management:
- Actively getting to know the client’s business / industry
- Build on-going client relationships to ensure client’s trust and confidence in our expertise, and develop a strategic relationship where we as a research supplier become a major component of the market research plans of the client
- Presents results to client face-to-face or virtually when needed
People Management:
- Responsible for coordinating, leading, mentoring and evaluating the performance of a team of 4 – 6 executives
- Actively manages direct reports by giving continuous feedback on performance, contributing to transformation goals, ensuring active career development and succession planning and taking on disciplinary obligations
Research Design & Project Management
- Able to translate client business or research objectives into an optimal research project design, considering multiple design options to achieve research objective while taking the cost, time and sample access into account as well
- Mentors / guides the research team on the implementation and execution of the project design
- Macro level monitoring of key project milestones to ensure client deadlines are met
- Managing capacity and guiding the team on priorities, resolving conflicting priorities
- Provides guidance to the team and sign off on of key elements (questionnaire, discussion guide analytical plans, weighting, visual and insightful reports with strategic direction, dashboards, etc) for the research accounts managed
Proposals & Costing:
- Provide commercial and research design input into proposals and costings for key accounts responsible for
- Work collaboratively with the Client Service Directors / Managers through providing input on proposals as well as the signing off final proposals to ensure a compelling offering is presented to our clients

Experience and qualifications
- 8 years plus market research experience
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
- Holds a degree in economics, marketing, sociology, psychology, science, business or research, preferably a post-graduate qualification
