POSITION OVERVIEW
The DATA ANALYST [Business Intelligence] is responsible for data analytics, managing the business intelligence, presentation, reporting and visualisation functions of the Analytics & Automation Team. A passion for data, able to understand research methods, able to find and draw insights, as well as the ability to conceptualize visually, are fundamental attributes in terms of success in this role.
The DATA ANALYST [Business Intelligence] manages requests from internal stakeholders to develop, manage and execute Business Intelligence related projects, which includes designing data visualizations; building reports from scratch, maintaining reports, communicating with stakeholders and project management. At times, the DATA ANALYST [Business Intelligence] may be called on to consult with internal and external stakeholders and team members to help solve or educate in the best reporting and automation approaches.
The DATA ANALYST [Business Intelligence] needs to have comprehensive proficiency and experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools such as DisplayR, PowerBI, Tableu, etc.. A basic understanding of R scripting language, and/or Python and/or SQL, advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint are fundamental requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Recognised three-year degree, preferably in Statistics, Business Analytics, or other data-related fields.
- Minimum three years in the role as a Data Analyst or similar role within a market research, marketing, or consumer insights organisation.
- At least two years’ experience working in a Business Intelligence tool e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Working experience with DisplayR is a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of descriptive and predictive statistics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools; specifically, MS Teams, MS Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with skills including creating and using pivot tables, slicers and VLOOKUP’s.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Visualisation and Automation: [produce visual outputs for statistical analysis]
- Consulate with Stakeholders and help design visualisations | reports and ways to best visually represent data.
- Deliver data and results in line with the stakeholders needs.
- Produce data and statistical outputs used to update automated data visualisation tools such as PowerPoint, online dashboards etc.
- Develop, maintain and generate automated reports (exports to PowerPoint) as and when necessary.
- Develop, maintain and generate dashboards (either in Excel or to online platforms) as and when necessary.
- Stay abreast of methodologies and technology used in statistical data visualisation solutions.
Analytics: [support Research insights delivery through the application of statistical analysis]
- Independently perform all activities related to the design, set-up, running and output of various types of research | survey analysis including, but not limited to cleaning data, free text processing, setting up data in statistical tools, running statistical analysis, updating presentations.
- Verify and clean data prior to running analytics.
- Set-up and produce tabular data outputs in the form of Q-files and Excel Pivot Tables.
- Set-up and maintain data diaries.
Operational Team Support [provide support to Junior Data Analysts]
- Technical support for other Analysts in new and complex Business Intelligence related tasks.
- Educate and assist other team members in the use of Business Intelligence tools to improve their outputs.
- Consulate with stakeholders and provide advice on best visualisation and automation processes to achieve their objectives.
